This Privacy Policy explains how the Government of Akaido collects, uses,
stores, and protects personal information when you interact with our
digital services. It is issued in compliance with the Personal Data
Protection Act (2018) and the Digital Identity Framework (2022).

Each ministry acts as an independent controller for data collected through
its own services.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Depending on the service you use, we may collect:
- Identity information: name, date of birth, National Identity Number
- Contact information: postal address, email, telephone number
- Authentication data: AkaidoID credentials and login records
- Service-specific data: tax records, vehicle registration, benefits claims
- Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type
- Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, timestamps
3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
We process personal data under one or more of the following lawful bases:
- Performance of a public task or statutory duty
- Compliance with a legal obligation
- Your explicit consent (for optional services)
- Protection of vital interests (in emergencies)
4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Personal information is used to:
- Deliver the public service you have requested
- Verify your identity and prevent fraud

We do not sell personal information. We do not use automated decision-
making that produces legal effects without a meaningful human review.
5. DATA SHARING
Information may be shared between Akaidan public authorities where permitted
by law, or with:
- Law enforcement, on proper legal authority
- Foreign governments, under ratified mutual assistance treaties
- Contracted service providers bound by strict data protection terms
All transfers outside the Republic of Akaido are subject to adequacy
decisions issued by the National Data Commissioner.
6. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
Retention periods vary by service and are set out in the National Records
Retention Schedule. For example:
- Tax records: 7 years
- Health records: lifetime plus 25 years
- General correspondence: 3 years
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure (where applicable)
- Object to processing or request restriction
- Data portability in machine-readable format
- Lodge a complaint with the National Data Commissioner

8. COOKIES
Our websites use essential cookies necessary for service delivery and,
with your consent, analytical cookies to improve our services. You may
manage your preferences at any time through the cookie banner or your

9. SECURITY
We apply the security standards set out in the National Cybersecurity
Framework (NCSF-3), including encryption in transit and at rest,
access controls, and regular independent audits.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Material changes will be communicated via the National Gazette and the
main government portal at least 30 days before taking effect.
